Nobee’s platform helps landlords list their properties and obtain a full year of rent as a guarantee. The platform also verifies prospective tenants on behalf of landlords and provides the ability for them to manage all their properties and tenants using a single dashboard.
For renters, the platform streamlines the process of finding a rental property by providing direct access to real estate agents. Nobee also eliminates the need for prospective clients to pay broker fees on some properties and offers a reduced broker fee for others, which the company claims is around 70% - 80% lower than the usual rates. For each showing, the company pays a flat fee to its agents (instead of the renter) as opposed to using a commission-based system. Nobee also offers departing tenants the option of showcasing their own properties, thereby reducing the need to rely on real estate agents.
Nobee plans to expand into other aspects of real estate management including rental payments and property management. As of July 2021, the company’s services were limited to Boston.
In July 2021, the company raised USD 1.3 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Vulcan Inc and the CEO of Squarefoot, Jonathan Wasserstrum. The funding was earmarked for developing new products and expanding the company’s geographical presence, with the aim of expanding its services to New York City and Seattle by the end of the year.
