ProofPilot is a clinical trial technology company that offers a SaaS solution for clinical researchers to design and execute a clinical trial. The solution is a self-service platform that allows researchers to visually design the clinical trial and test the proposed trial process from the perspective of a patient, researcher, or any other key stakeholder. The company claims to be able to reduce the time taken for a database build to one day compared to the 10–12 weeks needed for traditional methods.
The company’s target customer base is small research firms and companies that are unable to afford more expensive solutions. From a compliance perspective, the solution meets industry standards including HIPAA, CFR Part 11, and GDPR
The company noted that, as of June 2024, it had helped design 752 protocols for 991 sites across 21 countries. It additionally facilitated 5 million tasks.
Key customers and partnerships
The company partnered with the Massachusetts General Hospital and Google Cloud in January 2020 to offer a specialized clinical research platform that is tailored to support academic researchers.
Two successful case studies are Fisher Wallace Laboratories and Joovv, which both used ProofPilot to design clinical trials for medical treatment devices.
In May 2023, the ProofPilot and clinical research organizer platform provider VersaTrial partnered to integrate both company’s platforms to optimize speed, quality, and satisfaction for clinical trial site staff and patients. The integration involved combining ProofPilot’s self-service clinical trial design platform and VersaTrial’s platform for organizing trial research-related information.
Funding and financials
The company raised USD 12 million in Series B funding in April 2022 led by Mitsui & Co. The proceeds are to be used for new product launches and industry partnerships.
