Aquiline Drones

Aquiline Drones (AD) is an American drone manufacturer and cloud solutions provider based in Hartford, Connecticut. The company offers a vertically integrated ecosystem comprising drone manufacturing, cloud-connected drone operations, drone pilot training, maintenance-repair-overhaul (MRO) services, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) solutions for enterprises and governments. AD's key product offerings include the Spartacus line of autonomous, AI-enabled drones, the AD Command and Control (AD C2) platform for drone traffic management, and a drone-on-demand mobile application enabling customers to order drone services.

Aquiline Drones was established in January 2019 after four years of incubation. In December 2020, the company partnered with French drone manufacturer Drone Volt, later acquiring 50% of Drone Volt's subsidiary AerialTronics for USD 9 million in May 2022. AD also acquired ElluminAI Labs in September 2021 to enhance the Spartacus AI framework for deep learning capabilities across its drone technology ecosystem.

The Spartacus AI framework delivers key capabilities such as cognitive assistance for online training, voice recognition, machine vision for real-time data analysis, and optimization of flight planning and execution. It leverages advanced neural networks and deep learning algorithms to improve its performance over time. AD's drones are commonly used for applications like search and rescue, law enforcement, asset inspections, firefighting, and perimeter security.

In January 2022, Aquiline Drones became the first drone manufacturer in the US to establish its own insurance subsidiary, Aquiline Drones Indemnity Corporation (ADIC). This enables AD to provide insurance coverage for its operations, partners, and affiliates, as well as indemnify its products and services.

Key customers and partnerships

In January 2022, Aquiline Drones announced a strategic partnership with AWARE, a cloud-based incident response platform. This collaboration integrates AWARE's Smart Response Software with AD's Spartacus drones and cognitive AI services, enhancing real-time control and decision-making capabilities for first responders during emergencies.
