UK-based Virtex is an esports-focused VR company building virtual esports stadiums. “Virtex Stadium” is a virtual reality experience that allows users to chat and hang out with other participants. The stadium can support “hundreds of users” at a time to watch events which are displayed as 3D holograms. In March 2022, Virtex announced partnerships with social combat game Echo VR and Meta to launch a new stadium in closed beta. It aims to monetize through digital collectibles such as sports jerseys.

In May 2022, Virtex raised USD 3.2 million in seed funding from a consortium of investors that included Global Founders Capital, All Iron Ventures, and Graph Ventures. The new funding was allocated to hiring engineers and expanding platform reach.
