Based in Germany, t3rn is a hosting platform for smart contracts with composable, interoperable, and trust-free features, which allows developers to create multi-step transactions across different blockchains under a single call, replacing the need for blockchain bridges. It also incorporates fail-safe mechanisms that ensures any failed interoperable transactions can be reverted across all of the blockchains in a multi-chain transaction. The platform has its own utility token TRN, which can be used to pay for cross-chain transactions, staking, and governance.
t3rn also contributed to the development of the Polkadot ecosystem by participating in its Substrate Builders Program, which is the primary SDK used by developers to construct parachains.
Funding and financials
The company raised USD 6.5 million in a strategic funding round in November 2022, led by Polychain Capital, with participation from other investors such as Blockchange, Lemniscap, D1 Ventures, Huobi Ventures, and Figment Capital. It had planned to utilize the fresh funds to develop its blockchain interoperability technology.
