More Foods

More Foods is an Israeli plant-based meat startup. Founded in 2020, the company leverages its patent-pending technology to create a novel blend of upcycled pumpkin and sunflower seeds to replicate the taste and texture of traditional meat. The IP rights include the method of oil extraction from the seeds, formulation of the product, and extrusion of it.  Furthermore, the seeds used in the production are discarded seeds from the food oil industry.

The seed-based meat alternatives, launched in 2022, were tested as shreds, chunks, and minute steaks at selected restaurants in Israel. The meat substitute made using seven ingredients—pumpkin seed flour, sunflower seed flour, nutritional yeast, apple extract, black carrot juice extract, salt, and flavorings—is claimed to be extremely low in fat and contain more than 26% protein and 6% fiber, with no major allergens. Key customers and partnerships

In June 2023 , More Foods partnered with Nestlé's Israeli food unit, Tivall, to develop a new range of plant-based meat products using pumpkin seeds for main meals. This partnership aimed to leverage More Foods' expertise in plant-based technology and Nestlé's extensive market reach to cater to the increasing demand for healthy and sustainable food options.
