For example, during the September 2022 California heat wave, Leap mobilized over 24,000 unique energy devices to support the strained electric grid, generating USD 1 million in revenue opportunities for its technology partners.
Leap has expanded its services to multiple regions in the US. In June 2023, the company launched operations in ISO New England (ISO-NE), connecting DERs in Massachusetts and Rhode Island to new revenue streams. In April 2023, Leap joined the Virtual Power Plant Partnership (VP3), an initiative launched by RMI to advance VPP solutions for electricity sector decarbonization.
The company has also formed strategic partnerships with utilities and energy providers. In July 2022, Leap partnered with NRG Energy's brand Direct Energy to deploy a real-time grid services program in Texas, aiming to bolster grid flexibility and generate savings for NRG customers. Additionally, in April 2022, Leap collaborated with National Grid to provide Demand Response services at four of National Grid's New York City offices.
