Zeit develops an early stroke detection system for patients during sleep. The headband device includes an electroencephalogram (EEG) that is connected to the company’s mobile app. The system analyzes brain activity and leverages machine learning to identify signs of an impending stroke. If any anomalies are detected, an alarm is sent to the user and pre-specified caregivers. It can also be set to call 911 automatically.
As of May 2024, the device has a FDA breakthrough device designation and is yet to be commercialized.
Funding and financials
In October 2021, the company raised USD 2 million in a seed funding round just after leaving the seed accelerator company, Y Combinator’s Summer 2021 program. The funding round was co-led by SeedToB Capital and DigiLife and was used to expand its operations and scale its team.
