Futura Farms

Futura Farms is a Peru-based company focused on research and development of cannabis products, with a particular emphasis on industrial hemp. The company utilizes aeroponic vertical indoor gardening systems, such as the Tower Garden, to produce nutrient-rich, pesticide-free vegetables locally. This method eliminates the need for soil, weeding, and dependence on weather or sunlight.

Futura Farms aims to create a network of local businesses that can provide sustainable solutions for food, medicinal, and recreational needs. Their vision includes integrating local vegetable farms, poultry, meat, honey, and cannabis products to establish a self-sufficient system.

Since 2019, Futura Farms has collaborated with universities and private sector companies to investigate the cultivation and potential products derived from industrial hemp. Their research efforts explore the production of bioplastics, pulp for paper, textiles, and nutritious foods, among others.

In June 2020, the company pivoted its focus toward industrial hemp, recognizing the vast potential of this crop beyond medicinal applications. Futura Farms seeks to create a culture and expertise around industrial hemp cultivation in Peru within the next five years.
