Superjoi’s platform enables creators to run campaigns, similar to that of Kickstarter, to raise funding and receive suggestions for new projects from fans. Transactions within Superjoi are performed using its in-platform currency “supercoins,” each of which is worth USD 1, and the platform keeps a 10% cut of a creator’s fundraising goal. As of April 2022, creators can reward fans who fund their projects by offering them things such as event tickets, merchandise, and personal video calls. Later in 2022, the company plans to enable fans to receive a share of the advertising revenue generated from projects they have funded.
In April 2022 , Superjoi raised USD 2.5 million in pre-seed funding from a group of investors including Ascension Ventures, QED Investors, Systema VC, and a few executives from Shopify, Revolut, and Launch House. The platform is set to launch in mid-May with ~25 US-based creators and is expected to launch publicly later this summer.
