The State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) is a pilot state-owned corporation of the State Council headquartered in Beijing, China. As a backbone state-owned enterprise, its core business is to construct and operate power grids, provide a secure and reliable power supply, and take investments. It supplies power to over 1.1 billion of the population in 26 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, covering 88% of Chinese national territory. Collaborating with partners, SGCC has made breakthroughs in developing the UHV theory, technology, standards, and equipment, as well as building and running UHV projects.
