Flux is a browser-based collaborative platform aimed at electronics design and engineering teams. The platform aims to resolve the hardware design industry’s supply chain challenges caused by the shift to remote work and the global chip shortage. Through its Community Library, engineers can store and share open-source parts, simulation models, and schematics. The platform enables version control (tracking and managing changes to software code) and automated part-sourcing as well as a programmable simulator that removes the need for repeat system uploads and downloads. Flux is monetized on a freemium basis with paid tiers starting at USD 7 per month per user.
Flux announced the launch of its private beta in October 2021 with more than 5,000 early access users. Along with this, Flux raised USD 12 million in a seed funding round led by Outsiders Fund with the participation of Bain Capital Ventures, 8VC, and Liquid2 VC. The fresh capital is expected to be funneled toward R&D investments for product development, expanding its development team as well as sales and marketing efforts.
