Twill is a digital freight forwarding platform launched by Damco, a subsidiary of the global shipping giant Maersk. Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, Twill leverages Damco's logistics expertise and network to offer a user-friendly online platform for small and medium enterprises to book, manage and track shipments seamlessly. The platform allows customers to input necessary data, track paperwork, communicate with buyers, and gain improved visibility over their shipments.
Twill's differentiator is its simplicity and digitization of traditional manual freight forwarding processes previously handled through emails and phone calls. By May 2018, the platform was available in 19 countries. As of 2021, Twill operates as a brand under Maersk rather than Damco.
Twill follows an agile methodology, working in sprints to continuously refine and add features based on customer feedback and user research. New features go through mockups, prototyping for proof of concept, and user testing before implementation. The company had over 50 employees as of March 2018.
