Ctrl (formerly known as XDEFI Wallet) is a chain-agnostic wallet delivered as a browser extension. The wallet supports several blockchains such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, Terra, and THORChain, with plans to add other networks such as Avalanche, Arbitrum, and Solana. The solution was made available for public access from an invite-only beta in October 2021. Notably, within a few weeks of its public launch, the platform gained around 35,000 users.
In July 2024, the company rebranded under the name Ctrl (from XDEFI) and launched a new non-custodial wallet. Scheduled to launch in beta in August of the same year, the solution offers support for over 1,800 networks and enables authentication via Google and social media. The protocol also announced plans to convert its native token XDEFI to a new CTRL token on a one-to-one basis to allow for a smooth transition for existing token holders.
Key customers and partnerships
In March 2024, Ctrl partnered with SRAX, the creator of investor insights platform Sequire, to provide Sequire’s users access to decentralized assets and applications via its wallet services. The partnership enabled users to access over 200 blockchains and provided eligibility for future token airdrops.
