RESPONSUM

Belgium-based RESPONSUM is a spin-off of the privacy and security company CRANIUM. RESPONSUM provides a SaaS platform for companies that allows them to create privacy and security programs in compliance with privacy regulations such as the GDPR. The platform also enables companies to continuously assess their privacy maturity level based on integrated frameworks of EU Supervisory Authorities and set up security awareness campaigns for employees through an interactive learning tool.

The company has a built-in database called “Foundation”, which is interlinked to three submodules—configuration, my organization, and process management—that contain all vital information for privacy and security management. Organizations can automate data subject rights requests, data protection impact assessments, balancing tests, incident and breach management, stakeholder management, and more.

As of September 2021, more than 70 companies, including Biocartis, Provincie Antwerpen, Pandowx, and Hoshizaki, in the medical and manufacturing industries use the company’s platform.

In September 2021, the company secured EUR 1 million (USD 1.2 million) from Volta Ventures, with the option to extend this to EUR 2.5 million (USD 2.9 million) in the future. The company will leverage the capital infusion to hire sales, marketing, and customer support personnel, expand globally, and further scale up its SaaS platform to include a ‘Multiple Regulations” module to expand into countries such as the US.
