Kodasema

Estonia’s Kodasema develops sustainable movable houses named “KODA”, which are categorized as accessory dwelling units (ADUs). The company offers six models of KODA, ranging from 215 to 490 square feet. Its “KODA Compact” house can also be transferred to commercial buildings such as hotels, small offices, cafes, hair salons, and showrooms, with its ability to be stacked, creating two-story buildings. The company, in partnership with Top Marine (Estonian designer of marina solutions), also offers houses called “KODA Float” that integrate with a floating pontoon. 

Kodasema reports that its customers reduce their carbon footprint by living in small spaces and consuming less. Further, sustainability is achieved through generating less garbage and construction waste. Kodasema is also a member of One Planet Network, a community of experts focused on innovation and sustainable modes of production and consumption. By August 2021, the company was catering to 20+ countries including the US, the UK, and Canada, through 28 distributors and agents. The company has its production sites located in Estonia, the US, and Canada.
