HT Aero, an urban air mobility (UAM) company affiliated with XPeng Motors, is developing flying vehicles that combine automotive and aerospace technologies. The company's primary focus is on creating electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles for individual consumers. HT Aero's flagship product is the X2, a two-seat, enclosed cockpit, all-electric flying vehicle with autonomous flight path planning capabilities. The X2 weighs 360 kg, has a maximum takeoff weight of 560 kg, a range of 35 minutes, and can fly at speeds of up to 130 km/h. It features eight independent battery groups for redundant power supply and a 4-axis, 8-paddle design for multi-motor power backup.
HT Aero's next-generation model, planned for release in 2024, aims to be a fully integrated flying vehicle and automobile, capable of both low-altitude air travel and road driving. The company envisions this vehicle being used for various applications, including individual air tours, urban air travel for businessmen, and emergency rescue operations. HT Aero's flying car is designed to simplify the cockpit and include an autonomous pilot function, allowing for one-key takeoff, landing, and cruising after a route has been set.
