Ziknes is a Spanish provider of additive manufacturing solutions using robotics technology. It uses proprietary software and hardware, facilitating faster and more flexible creation of components. The hardware offered by Ziknes includes 3D print heads, robotic arms, sensors, and printing platforms. Its automated software contains a virtual stock, digital twin, and data records.
Key customers and partnerships
The company partnered with Meltio in September 2022 to create the Z-Metal One, a robotic additive manufacturing machine that allows for the creation of 3D parts. The printer includes a self-supporting structure with a robot, positioner, and Meltio's multi-laser laser head. The integration is made possible by the Meltio Engine, a hybrid manufacturing module that combines 3D printing with CNC machining centers or robotic arms. The system can print large parts in materials such as titanium, copper, aluminum, steel, and Inconel.
Funding and financials
In November 2023, the company received an undisclosed amount from fashion brand Mango. This involved providing financial aid through a convertible participating loan. This investment also included Ziknes joining an acceleration program, enabling the startup founders to grasp insights into Mango's operations for scaling its business model. Moreover, the textile group mentioned that the Ziknes team will benefit from guidance and mentorship sessions led by professionals within Mango, focusing on product design, particularly furniture design.
