Floyd

Floyd is a Detroit-based furniture company founded in 2013 by Kyle Hoff and Alex O'Dell with the mission to create well-designed, sustainable furniture built to last. Their first product, the Floyd Leg, allowed customers to convert any flat surface into a table top. They have since expanded their offerings to include modular sofas, sectionals, beds, bookcases and other home furnishings.

Floyd's products feature a simple and sleek design aesthetic inspired by mid-century modern style. Their furniture is engineered for durability and easy assembly, disassembly and portability when moving. For example, the sofa features an innovative hex bolt system that allows the backrest and platform to attach seamlessly to the frame.

All Floyd furniture is made-to-order using premium materials like birch plywood, powder-coated steel and stain-resistant performance fabrics. The brand prioritizes regional sourcing and manufacturing across facilities in the Midwest and East Coast to minimize environmental impact. In December 2022, they launched a secondhand marketplace program to further their sustainability efforts.

Floyd's sofa line includes the two and three-seater Sofa model (starting at USD 2,120) which can be customized with add-on chaise sections. They also offer the Squishy Chair armchair and recently launched their first fully modular sectional called The Sectional (from USD 2,120 for a two-seater). All sofa orders are backed by a 10-year warranty and 30-day free return policy.
