Vika Living is a Los Angeles-based startup that manufactures the Vika One, a prefabricated and foldable tiny home. The Vika One is a 144-square-foot self-contained accessory dwelling unit (ADU) constructed using structurally insulated panels made of fiberglass and foam. It features an open-plan design with a living area, a queen-sized bed, a dining space, a full kitchen, a bathroom with a full-size shower, and ample storage. The unit is designed to fold into a compact 4x12-foot package for efficient transportation on a flatbed trailer.
Upon delivery, the Vika One can be unfolded and set up in about an hour without requiring heavy equipment or a permanent foundation. The home comes pre-installed with standard plumbing, electrical wiring, and an HVAC system. It also offers an off-grid option with solar panels, batteries for up to 7.2kWh of energy storage, water collection, and a waste management system. Inspired by Scandinavian design, the Vika One provides a modern and airy living space with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow ample natural light.
Vika Living positions the Vika One as a flexible and economical housing solution for various applications, including rentals, glamping, full-time living, emergency shelters, and transitional housing. The company aims to address the demand for affordable and rapidly deployable housing units. The standard model is priced at USD 38,000, while the off-grid version costs up to USD 46,000, excluding delivery and setup fees. Vika Living started accepting pre-orders in 2022, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2023 across the US and select international markets by the end of the year.
