Odyssey

Odyssey is the developer of Odyssey Momentum, an open-source web3 metaverse software stack that enables the creation of online 3D spaces for collaboration. It offers traditional remote collaboration features such as video meeting spaces, virtual whiteboards, chat features, and shared document collaboration combined with a customizable 3D interface and navigation that is similar to a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) such as Eve Online.

The alpha release of Momentum was opened to the public in early November 2021 and within a week, it had thousands of users collaborating on areas such as art, education, events, hackathons, policymaking, and design sprints. Notable users include Deloitte, Engie, Vattenfall, SAP, the Dutch Government, and the Sovereign Nature Initiative.

The company’s most recent funding round was in November 2021, when it raised EUR 4 million (approx. USD 4.6 million) in funding from a group of investors, including Scytale Ventures, Maven 11 Capital, and BR Capital. The funds were raised to accelerate the development of Odyssey Momentum and to support the onboarding of creators to build their own 3D spaces using the stack.
