Roboteam

Roboteam is an Israeli unmanned platform developer specializing in tactical ground robotic systems. Founded in 2009, the company produces a range of robotic systems weighing from 1.5 kilograms to 1.2 tons. Roboteam's flagship product is the Micro Tactical Ground Robot (MTGR), a 15-kilogram man-portable system designed for explosive ordnance disposal, special operations, and tactical maneuvers. The MTGR features treads, a manipulator arm, advanced communications, and optics, allowing it to investigate objects and navigate challenging terrains, including stairs. In May 2024, Roboteam secured a USD 30 million contract to supply approximately 200 MTGR units to the US Marine Corps, with deliveries expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2025. The company has previously supplied hundreds of MTGR systems to the US Air Force under a program valued at over USD 25 million. Roboteam's systems leverage MESH communication technology, enabling centralized control of multiple platforms through a single control unit. In November 2021, Roboteam, in collaboration with Elbit Systems, unveiled the Rook, a larger unmanned ground vehicle weighing 1,200 kg with a matching payload capacity. The company's products are used by defense and law enforcement customers in over 30 countries, with thousands of systems deployed globally.

Key customers and partnerships

Roboteam's key customers include the US Marine Corps, US Air Force, and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The company has also supplied systems to France, the UK, Norway, Italy, and Thailand. In June 2022, Roboteam partnered with SMARTSHOOTER to develop an integrated solution combining Roboteam's Transportable Interoperable Ground Robot (TIGR) with SMARTSHOOTER's SMASH Hopper, a Light Remotely Controlled Weapon Station. This collaboration aimed to enhance tactical forces' lethality and survivability in various operational scenarios. Roboteam has also worked with Mistral Inc. as its US partner for manufacturing and assembly of its systems in the US.
