SiteMinder offers a collection of integrated software products to hotels and accommodation providers globally, utilizing API integrations to connect a hotel's management and reservation systems to distribution channels. The platform offers solutions for selling, marketing, managing, and growing a hotel business under one platform. The company is headquartered in Australia, with a global presence in the APAC, Europe, and the Americas, employing staff in more than 20 countries across six sales hubs and seven offices. 

The company’s solutions include a channel manager to manage room information and distribute it to more than 425 channels, a booking engine for direct reservations, an all-in-one solution for vacation rentals and small hotels, multi-property management for enterprise properties, and a global distribution system to connect hotels, accommodation providers, and other travel industry service providers with corporate travel agents. The platform also offers Demand Plus to generate bookings through metasearch, a Hotel Website Builder, an integrated payment solution, and real-time insights into booking performance and pricing across channels.

The company operates on a subscription-based revenue business model, with clients paying a periodic recurring fee to access the platform's products. Additional revenue is generated from transactions through fees based on a percentage or fixed rate per transaction, or reservation for the transaction products.

SiteMinder acquired two companies: GuestJoy in August 2022 to expand its hotel commerce offering by automating guest communication and driving upsell revenues, and Globekey in 2015 to increase its presence in Indonesia and Thailand.

Key customers and partnerships

As of February 2023, it served 36,000 customers across 150 countries. Its clients include significant travel and hospitality firms such as Hyatt, Best Western Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Tonight, Restel Hotel Group, Priceline,  and Jovago.

SiteMinder’s partners include firms such as Airbnb, AOTGroup, CBS Travel Asia, IBC Hotels, Mitchell Corp, RateManager, and Duetto Edge RMS.

Funding and financials

SiteMinder debuted on the ASX in an oversubscribed IPO of AUD 627 million (~USD 460 million) in November 2021, valuing the company at AUD 1.4 billion (~USD 1 billion).

In FY2022, SiteMinder generated revenue of AUD 116 million (~USD 84 million), reflecting YoY growth of 15%, while subscription properties grew 7% YoY to 34,700. Subscription revenue accounted for the bulk of revenue with 75%, lower than the 83% share it held in FY2021. The EMEA region ranked first, accounting for 43% of revenue and 47% of subscription properties, followed by the APAC and Americas regions. However, the Americas region posted the highest YoY growth in revenue (27%). The company reported an improved net loss of AUD 110 million (~80 million) in FY2022, compared to AUD 121 million (~USD 90 million) in FY2021.
