Based in Stockholm, Sweden, iOhouse is a developer of autonomous, fully self-sustaining (off the grid), mobile, prefabricated houses known as “The Space''. The company operates in the Western European and US markets.
With an area of around 650 square feet (sq ft), these houses are equipped with solar panels and a generator; an air heat pump with climate control; an integrated water system, and an integrated sewer system; have adequate ventilation. Utilities such as water, electricity, heating, and plumbing can be controlled locally or remotely by using a smart home app from more than 70 countries. The houses are priced ranging from EUR 185,000-290,000 (approximately USD 209,000-328,000) depending on the specifications. According to the company, these houses are designed as a second home or a summer cottage for two people to live in independently for two weeks at a time. A Space unit takes around 90 minutes to install and fits in a truck for convenient delivery.
The company plans to achieve a revenue of EUR 40 million (USD 45 million) by 2024. Another house model named “The Fox” (details and features of the house were not disclosed) is also in its upmcoming pipeline.
