In January 2022, Draftea secured USD 13.2 million in seed funding led by Kaszek, with participation from renowned investors like Sequoia, Bullpen, and FanDuel's founder Nigel Eccles, who serves as the company's board chairman. The startup achieved another milestone in September 2022 by partnering with the NFL and NFL Players Association to launch "NFL by Draftea," introducing American football fantasy leagues to Mexican users. It raised an additional USD 20 million in a Series A funding round led by Stepstone Group the same month.
