Bonapp.eco is a Romanian food waste redistribution-focused company that allows retailers to sell their goods that are nearing the expiration date to consumers via an app. The company launched its app—Bonapp— in November 2021 offering 40% to 80% discount for food on its app by partnering with retail companies such as supermarkets, hypermarkets, restaurants, shops, bakeries, coffee shops, and hotels. Some of its partners include food and beverage companies such as Mercure Hotel, Chez Odette, Indivan, Mis Ale, Papila Taste Buddies, Starbucks, Tartelicious, and Accor.

As of January 2022, the company’s app has been downloaded by 10,000 users and saved 1,000 meals from being discarded. The company reports that it plans to expand to 5,000 locations and save 30 million meals by 2023.

Bonapp.eco raised EUR 800,000 (approximately USD 918,000) in a seed funding round led by Up in January 2022 . The fresh funds were allocated toward the company's expansion into other Romanian cities in Q1 2022, including Cluj, Timișoara, Lasi, and also to other European countries from Q2 2022. In addition, Bonapp has plans to recruit new employees and managers in each location.
