PlushCare is a telehealth provider which facilitates online video visits with a doctor. It allows users to connect with doctors through smartphones. The company's technology is integrated with most major insurers, labs, and pharmacies, further easing the access to patients. It treats many acute and chronic conditions and offers primary care, mental healthcare, and urgent care services. With over 225,000 patients treated as of September 2020, PlushCare visits are priced at USD 14.99 per month. In addition to the monthly fee, it charges a fee of USD 99 on the first visit of a non insured member (copay is payable by insured members for their first visit). Plushcare membership includes unlimited in-app messaging, access to an online care team, and same day appointments.
Plushcare raised USD 23 million in June 2020 from investors led by Transformation Capital bringing the total funding of the company to USD 31 million. The funds are expected to be used for expanding its staff from 50 employees to 100 employees by June 2021 and fueling its marketing budget.
