Tangelo is an ecommerce platform providing a "Food-as-Medicine" solution for accessing and delivering nutritious foods. It offers a streamlined experience for organizations to create and distribute food benefit programs, enabling individuals to conveniently order personalized, medically tailored food options. Tangelo's platform connects consumers with locally sourced fresh produce, meal kits, and ready-to-eat meals tailored to various health conditions and cultural preferences. Through its online marketplace, users can order SNAP-eligible food items for free home delivery, eliminating barriers like transportation and limited grocery access. 

In September 2023, Tangelo acquired Diet ID, a digital health platform featuring dietary evaluation and personalized coaching, further enhancing its comprehensive food-as-medicine approach.

Key customers and partnerships

In June 2022, Tangelo partnered with Hunger Free America, a non-profit organization focused on ending hunger. This collaboration aimed to improve access to healthy food and SNAP benefits for residents of the Bronx, New York, an area significantly impacted by food insecurity. Tangelo provided its platform for distributing "healthy grocery boxes" and offered the "Tangelo Nutrition Incentive," where low-income families received additional free healthy food for their purchases.

In January 2024, Tangelo announced a partnership with the Vitality Group, a global health and wellbeing company. This collaboration integrated Tangelo's food benefit platform and Diet ID's dietary assessment capabilities with Vitality's incentive system. It enabled Vitality members to access condition-tailored nutritious food options, receive personalized dietary prescriptions, and engage in behavior change coaching, ultimately aiming to improve health outcomes at scale.
