Popchew manages a portfolio of creator-endorsed virtual food brands. The company creates menus in partnership with social media influencers with sizable followings. Restaurants with excess kitchen capacity can partner with Popchew to prepare its virtual brands.

The social media influencers can work together with Popchew and its test kitchen chefs to develop their own delivery-only menu, along with branding and packaging. The influencers can then promote the brands across their social media follower base and generate sales. Popchew manages the operational aspects of the brands including restaurant onboarding, training, quality control, ingredient sourcing, packaging, customer support and feedback, platform listing marketing, and scaling operations. The brands are available for purchase via third-party delivery services such as Grubhub and Uber Eats as well as Popchew’s website.

Popchew’s brand portfolio includes Bitcoin Pizza, launched in partnership with investor Anthony “Pomp” Pompliano, and Wing SZN, launched in partnership with YouTuber Zias.

As of March 2022, Popchew’s had a partner network of more than 100 restaurants.

Funding and financials

In March 2022, Pochew raised USD 3.6 million in a seed round led by Long Journey Ventures. It planned on investing the funds in product development, engineering, and operations.
