Medocity offers digital tools to remotely monitor and engage patients with chronic conditions to avoid unnecessary hospitalizations and reduce costs between physical visits to practitioners. Started as a company with a main focus on cancer, Medocity now focuses on multiple chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart problems, and behavioural health issues. The company’s connected care platform leverages technologies from IBM watson and can be linked with smartphones and digital assistants such as Amazon Alexa. The company’s service monitors patient vitals, checks prescription adherence, tracks side effects, and generates personalized insights from AI, machine learning, and analytics of collected data to identify potential issues. It detects abnormalities in vitals and notifies care teams if there are any emergencies or potential concerns. The service also provides integrated video calling and messaging facilities to patients while practitioners can view the patient’s dashboard allowing them to make more informed decisions.
In March 2020, Medocity launched its Covid-19 screening and monitoring facilities based on its digital care platform and allowed proactive interventions for patients, especially targeting the long term care centres.
