Enfabrica develops networking chips designed to handle GenAI workloads. Enfabrica emerged from stealth mode in 2023 with its flagship product, the Accelerated Compute Fabric Switch (ACF-S). This hardware solution is designed to deliver multi-terabit-per-second data movement between GPUs, CPUs, AI accelerators, memory, and networking devices within data center server racks. The company optimizes data movement and parallelizes workloads, enabling efficient AI training and inferencing with fewer GPUs, CPUs, and accelerators without sacrificing performance.
Enfabrica's chip tackles bottlenecks by enabling AI computing chips to communicate with more parts of a network simultaneously compared to existing networking chips. The company claims that its ACF-S eliminates the need for traditional server I/O and networking chips, such as rack-level networking switches, server network interface controllers, and PCIe switches, by providing a converged solution.
Additionally, the company announced that its Accelerated Compute Fabric (ACF) SuperNIC chip will be available from Q1 2025 onwards. The chip provides 3.2 Tbps connectivity with 4x the bandwidth and multi-path resiliency over other network interface controllers. Enfabrica claimed to be the first company to develop a ground-up SuperNIC chip, providing infrastructure for AI workloads such as training, inference, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
