Automotive Cells Company (ACC) is a European manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles. The company aims to produce sustainable, high-capacity, and affordable batteries as an alternative to traditional energy sources. ACC employs cutting-edge technology, including chemical processes for manufacturing electrodes, mechanical assembly of electrodes within batteries, and a formation process that brings the batteries to life.
By the end of 2024, ACC expects to produce enough batteries to equip 200,000 vehicles. The company's first gigafactory in Billy-Berclau, France, will become fully operational by the end of 2023, with an annual production capacity of 40 GWh. Two additional gigafactories are planned in Kaiserslautern, Germany (operational in 2025), and Termoli, Italy, each with a potential capacity of 40 GWh. ACC aims to achieve a total manufacturing capacity of at least 120 GWh by 2030 to meet the anticipated demand for electric vehicle batteries.
