Vesper Energy is a developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale renewable energy assets, primarily focused on solar and energy storage projects across the US. The company originated the 80-megawatt Nestlewood Solar project in Ohio in 2017, which commenced commercial operations in March 2024. Nestlewood Solar is one of the first sites to qualify as an energy community under the Inflation Reduction Act. It provides on-peak power during high demand periods and offsets power for a leading online retailer through a power purchase agreement (PPA).
In May 2024, Vesper Energy completed the sale of its Deer Creek Renewable Energy project, a solar and storage facility located in Tulare County, California, with a potential generating capacity of up to 50 MWac solar and 50 MW of energy storage capacity. The company has two additional projects under development in the same county, aligning with California's goal of achieving 100% zero-carbon energy planning by 2045. Vesper Energy's development pipeline in California represents approximately 1,750 MW of solar and energy storage projects.
In February 2024, Vesper Energy secured USD 590 million in financing for its Hornet Solar project in Swisher County, Texas. Upon completion, this project will be one of the largest single-phase solar projects in the US, generating 600 MWac of power, sufficient to supply electricity to approximately 160,000 homes annually. The power generated by the Hornet Solar project is contracted to four off-takers through individual PPAs.
