IRIS Software Group

IRIS Software Group is a UK-based firm that offers software solutions and services for HR and payroll teams, educational organizations, and finance and accountancy firms. 

In 2013, the company launched IRIS OpenPayslips, a cloud-based service allowing employers to deliver payslips through a web browser or smartphone. IRIS OpenPayslips uses the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and allows employees to view their personal payment history. 

In 2016, IRIS HR was launched on the CascadeGo platform. IRIS HR professional (formerly known as Octopus HR and CascadeGo) offers HR tools to help small and medium sized enterprises organize and manage their workforce. The software is customizable with different modules for expenses, form building, performance, recruitment, training and timesheets.

In 2020, the company launched Virtual Payroll Assistant (VPA) with the goal of eliminating manual payroll operations, allowing payroll teams to handle more complex and valuable tasks.  Also in 2020, the company launched IRIS Engage, a business-to-employee communications tool. It integrates with Cascade and IRIS HR to allow two-way communication with staff via email and text. As of 2020, over 850,000 employees are managed by IRIS HR solutions. 

In 2021, the company acquired UK-based cloud payroll provider Staffology for an undisclosed amount. Founded in 2018, Staffology’s cloud payroll software is built on an open API, which allows it to integrate with other products. The software is mainly directed at small and midsize businesses and enables users to automate payroll. The acquisition will give IRIS another revenue stream and complement its in-house payroll management, accounting, and HR management solutions.
