The company planned to initially focus on the UK and the US, looking to sign key supply partnerships with leading recycling companies and gradually expand its presence globally.In May 2022, the company ​​opened its first US facility, a <a href="https://sp-edge.com/updates/10635">77-acre recycling facility </a>at the Adams Township Industrial Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana, investing over USD 340 million. Construction of the facility is expected to begin in 2023, with plans to ramp up operations by 2025 and have a capacity to process 41–48 kilotons per annum. The facility will reportedly be the world’s first zero-waste smelter and refinery to recover and recycle e-waste and other complex non-ferrous scrap in the region. The facility is stated to emit less carbon, given that 86% of the electricity produced in Indiana comes from nuclear power.The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) has also committed to supporting Exurban with an investment of USD 2.5 million in the form of incentive-based tax credits. IEDC will also provide an additional USD 200,000 in conditional training grants depending on Exurban’s job creation plans.
