Founded in 2022, Surefire Cyber provides 24/7 digital forensics and incident response services to help cyber insurers, brokers, legal firms, and organizations to prepare for, respond to, and recover from cyber events such as ransomware, malware, data theft, and email compromise. The company provides tools for pre-incident preparation such as compromise assessment (deploys endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools or leverages existing ones to identify threats), ransomware resiliency assessment (simulates ransomware threat actor’s techniques, tactics, and procedures [TTPs]), and threat intelligence assessment (leverages dark web investigative platforms to monitor exposure and leaked information) to assess cyber threats and exposures and improve security plans. The company provides incident response services to guide and manage cyber incidents through containment, eradication, ransomware negotiation, and data recovery. It also provides post-incident remediation to help organizations recover and fortify their cyber resilience following a security incident.

The platform provides 24/7 secure access through a mobile or web-based application, forensic analysis to identify the root cause, scope, and impact of an incident, real-time status view of all response activities, and incident response playbooks. The company also offers access to on-call response engineers who help identify and remediate security incidents in real time.

Funding and financials

In May 2022, Surefire Cyber raised USD 10 million in a Series A funding round led by Forgepoint Capital. The funding marked Surefire Cyber’s emergence from stealth and was utilized to develop its platform and employ a team of highly skilled incident responders.
