US Ecology

US Ecology was a leading provider of environmental services in North America, offering treatment, disposal, and recycling services for hazardous, non-hazardous, radioactive and specialty waste to commercial and government entities. Founded in 1952, the company operated facilities across the US, Canada and Mexico before being acquired by Republic Services.

The company's main products and services included:

In February 2022, Republic Services acquired US Ecology for USD 2.2 billion, including USD 0.7 billion in net debt. The acquisition added nine specialty waste landfills (including five hazardous waste landfills), 16 RCRA-permitted treatment facilities, seven wastewater treatment facilities, and over 80 environmental services field locations to Republic Services' portfolio. Prior to the acquisition, US Ecology reported revenue of USD 968 million for the twelve months ending September 2021.
