VirSec provides a patented “VirSec Trusted Execution” platform for full-stack protection of cloud workloads, web applications, critical infrastructure, and IoT systems by detecting and mitigating advanced cyber attacks in real-time. VirSec’s industry partners include Schneider Electric, Cisco, AVEVA, Broadcom, NetApp, Raytheon, and GHD. VirSec’s Zero-Day Virtual Patching tool patches applications against virtually any vulnerability including Industroyer, WannaCry, NotPetya, Havex, and Triton. VirSec’s security solution also offers real-time remote video monitoring by a trained virtual security officer.
In November 2020, VirSec made its foray into the Asian market through a partnership with Japan’s Cornet Solutions and as of March 2021, the company reported a presence across 16 countries.
As of July 2021, VirSec employed 160 people, reported between 50 - 100 customers, and was focused on scaling its R&D and go-to-market efforts across Australia and New Zealand, to protect critical infrastructure of the defence, energy, water, financial services, telecommunications, and retail sectors, and to secure more Fortune 500 clients and government contracts.
Also in July, the company raised USD 100 million in a Series C funding round from more than 70 investors across the public sector, critical infrastructure, global enterprise, and venture. The company indicated that the money would help hire new staff and develop a customer support function.
