Ocean Aero, a Mississippi-based company, offers TRITON, an autonomous underwater and surface vehicle (AUSV) capable of collecting data above and below the ocean surface and transmitting it to any location.
The TRITON can autonomously sail for up to three months using solar and wind power, reaching speeds of up to five knots. It also functions as a submarine, capable of autonomous submersion for periods of up to five days at speeds of five knots. In addition, the TRITON has a low radar and visual signature; its radar cross section disappears at a quarter mile and its color scheme disrupts visual detection at 100 m, enabling autonomous deep dives for evasion and threat avoidance.
The company's pre-packaged payloads cover 90% of the applications in the defense, research, and offshore energy sectors. The company offers a purchase model that allows customers to own their fleet of TRITONs, or a company-operated or mission-as-a-service model where Ocean Aero and its global partners manage the number of TRITONs dedicated to a mission.
