Health iPASS

Health iPASS is a cloud-based patient engagement and revenue cycle management platform that streamlines the patient experience from appointment to payment. Its innovative software automates various front and back-office tasks for medical practices, such as sending appointment reminders, patient check-in and intake forms, insurance benefit verification, and automatic posting of demographic and payment information into practice management systems.

The platform promotes price transparency by providing informative cost estimates to patients and offering convenient, flexible payment options. It facilitates pre-service, time-of-service, and post-service patient payments through a multi-channel virtual interface. Health iPASS's technology aims to improve patient satisfaction, loyalty, and retention by simplifying the check-in process and payment workflow.

One of the key features is the One-Time Payments functionality, which allows practices to collect patient payments outside the regular check-in workflow, such as for walk-in payments or over-the-phone payments. Payments can be automatically posted as patient balances or deposits, and patients receive electronic receipts via email.

In September 2018, Health iPASS partnered with Illinois Bone and Joint Institute (IBJI), one of the largest orthopedic group practices in the country, to enhance its patient revenue cycle. In December 2020, Sphere, a provider of integrated payments and security software, acquired Health iPASS to create a single platform for patient payments and expand its healthcare offerings.
