New York-based Caraway offers virtual care for college women, covering mental, physical, and reproductive healthcare. The company has a team of gynecologists, psychiatrists, family medical practitioners, adolescent specialists, therapists, nurses, and care coaches for this purpose. Its services are available via a mobile app, which also allows patients to order home testing kits and obtain referrals for in-person consultations. The startup is the product of a partnership between 7wireVentures and OMERS Ventures and emerged from stealth in July 2022.
As of June 2023, Caraway’s services are available to 18–29-year-old individuals facing women’s health issues across a total of ten states.
Funding and financials
In June 2023, the company raised USD 16.8 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Maveron and GV (Google Ventures) and participation from other venture capital firms. The raised funds were set aside to increase the company's geographical footprint across the US into six new states: Colorado, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, and New Jersey.
