Irida is a Greek fish feed manufacturing company specializing in Mediterranean aquaculture species. The company produces targeted fish feeds for various species including Gilthead Sea Bream, European Sea Bass, Meagre, Pagrus, Greater Amberjack, and Rainbow Trout, covering both growth and reproduction stages. Irida's nutritional team formulates feed development based on recent scientific findings of specific nutrient requirements, with careful attention to raw materials selection and their nutritional content. The company also produces feeds certified for organic aquaculture, following EU regulations and certifications for sustainability, safety, and quality. As of 2023, Irida owned two modern fish feed factories, producing over 120,000 tons of feeds annually with a turnover of EUR 180 million. Exports accounted for over 35% of total sales.
In addition to feed production, Irida offers advisory services covering areas such as custom feeding protocols, breeding program management, and fish health and welfare protocols. The company has expanded its portfolio through strategic acquisitions. In 2021, Irida invested in Aquatic Biologicals, a marine biotechnology company focused on preventing fish diseases in aquaculture. Irida also acquired Vetcare, through which it provides health management products and services to the aquaculture industry. In November 2023, Irida acquired an 83.5% stake in Galaxidi Marine Farm, one of Greece's largest aquaculture firms. Galaxidi produces 15,500 tonnes of fish annually, with operations in Greece and Spain, and had an annual turnover exceeding EUR 80 million.
