RubiconMD

RubiconMD is an eConsult service that connects primary care physicians with in-network medical specialists, allowing them to share relevant patient data and receive recommendations to make informed decisions. The platform identifies specialists based on availability, research focus, and ratings. The service costs USD 350 per month for a single clinician. 

RubiconMD also offers RubiconBH, RubiconRX, and RubiconPanel eConsult services. RubiconBH connects primary care providers with behavioral health specialists and includes phone consultations. RubiconRX is a medication management service. RubiconPanel allows clinicians to prioritize specialists by forming custom panels. 

Founded in 2013, RubiconMD has 120 in-network medical specialists as of March 2021. In March 2020, RubiconMD completed a Series C funding round that brought total funding to nearly USD 38 million. In October 2021, direct primary care provider Oak Street Health acquired Rubicon for a total consideration of USD 130 million. Following the acquisition, Oak Street Health will integrate Rubicon’s eConsults platform to provide real-time specialist video visits that will be available in-person at Oak Street Centres, leveraging RubiconMD’s technology and network of 230 healthcare providers.
