Germany-based Sereact develops an AI-driven software solution to automate the pick-and-pack processes in warehouses and manufacturing environments. Its unique value offering includes “PickGPT,” a chatbot interface that uses a combination of computer vision models and large language models to enable users to interact with robots in natural language. The users can use the PickGPT interface to provide instructions or feedback to robots via speech or text.
Sereact’s proprietary robotics framework makes the solution compatible with a range of robotic hardware components. The technology supports a variety of grippers including various suction grippers, two-finger grippers, or needle grippers. It can also be integrated with additional applications such as barcode scanning. Sereact claims that its solution can reach picking speeds of 1,500 picks per hour and offer collision-free picking.
Sereact’s solutions include “Sereact for AutoStore,” “Sereact for Kardex,” and “Sereact for shuttle systems,” each of which integrates autonomous picking with a different storage system.
Key customers and partnerships
Sereact offers solutions for industrial robot makers including ABB, Yaskawa, and Kuka as well as collaborative robot developers such as UR and Fanuc. Sereact’s solution is also used by players in ecommerce, manufacturing, and third-party logistics sectors, including ZenFulfillment, Daimler Truck, Material Bank, and Schmalz.
Funding and financials
In August 2023, Sereact raised USD 5 million in a seed round led by Point Nine and Air Street Capital. The company planned to use the funds to support the development and international roll-out of PickGPT.
