The acquisition was carried out to include Bluestream’s digital front door capabilities, integrated language services, and other digital tools to eVisit’s offerings. Additionally, eVisit also acquired Bluestream’s partners, which include over 50,000 providers and 500 health systems. These partners were added to eVisit’s current partner list of 100 healthcare delivery organizations. Through the acquisition, eVisit planned to add 200 additional language options, including American Sign Language, to its telehealth solution.
In June 2024, the company acquired the inpatient teleconsult technology platform of UPMC for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition expanded eVisit's telehealth capabilities to serve health systems across ambulatory and inpatient care settings. According to UPMC, the technology resulted in a 92% decrease in wait times since its inception, with over 40,000 consultations delivered.
