SimX is a provider of VR enterprise training solutions compatible with wired and wireless XR headsets, with the company’s patented technology allowing students, instructors, and observers to work together on the same virtual cases focused on medical scenarios. As of January 2024, its VR system featured 250+ patient models and environments, and 300+ tools and procedures, allowing for robust tailor-made solutions for specific enterprise clients. Use cases are based on the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine’s open-source case model and constructed as a series of interdependent states in line with education standards, offering reporting and debrief tools for tracking performance over time, along with moderator tools for controlling the case and adjusting difficulty for learners.
Types of VR training applications include 1) Emergency Medical Services (EMS, a training system for first responders), 2) Nursing, a training system for healthcare professionals with fully customizable dialogue for a wide range of scenarios, and 3) the Virtual Advancement of Learning and Operational Readiness (VALOR) program, a training system for military healthcare personnel developed in partnership with the US Air Force in October 2020. The VALOR program is composed of different military medical training scenarios including the VALOR CORE, VALOR En Route Care (to June 2023), VALOR TCCC-ARC (September 2023), VALOR EMS and VALOR CBRNE (October 2023), and VALOR SUC (to be available in June 2024).
In March 2023, the company announced the launch of the SimX Marketplace, a library of custom-built learning scenarios created by its clients. The company shares a percentage of revenue with the creators of the experiences, for each download. Previously, in January 2023, the company announced that it would be training United States Space Force (USSF) staff for astronaut recoveries and space launches. The company also used to offer COVID-19 training simulations as well.
The company offers three tiers of its services 1) Free, 2) Pro (which allows for custom scenario creation on the platform, priced at USD 3,000 per headset or USD 100 per student per year), and 3) Custom (custom built solutions by SimX priced at USD 8,000–USD 20,000).
Key customers and partnerships
