Valqari develops a patented landing platform for delivery drones called “Drone Delivery Station” (DDS) for both business and residential use. The DDS features precise internal mechanisms to ensure reliable package handling between drones and secure lockers, regardless of the drone's payload positioning. It supports diverse network connectivity, including mobile, LEO satellite, and Wi-Fi for seamless integration with delivery software. The station is AC powered, with potential for future enhancements like battery backup and solar charging, for cost-effective and adaptable operations. Commercial Drone Tech

Valqari is a Chicago-based startup that claims to have solved the "last inch" logistics problem associated with drone deliveries through its patented Drone Delivery Station. This universal drone receptacle allows for the delivery and pick-up of packages by nearly any drone model. As of September 2022, Valqari held 28 patents in 16 countries for its technology that provides an entirely automated drone delivery system covering hardware, software, and communication requirements.
Valqari's Drone Delivery Station is a six-locker system that enables a seamless and secure handoff between drones and recipients. The lockers are weatherproof, theft-proof, and temperature-controlled, making them suitable for delivering a wide range of products like food, pharmaceuticals, and general ecommerce items. The company has also designed a window-mounted drone landing pad for high-rise buildings.
In September 2022, Valqari acquired UK-based IDU Group to incorporate their autonomous docking and delivery handoff capabilities into its offerings. This merger allowed Valqari to create a comprehensive drone delivery infrastructure solution spanning from rooftops to ground-based receptacles. The combined entity aims to revolutionize drone deliveries across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, meal delivery, grocery services, governments, and residential ecommerce.
Valqari's solutions have been deployed across the globe, with the company providing products and services from the South Pacific to Europe as of 2022. In May 2022, Valqari collaborated with hospitality partner Levy's innovation studio DBK Studio and drone operator USOG to pilot the first drone-delivered food and beverage service at a sports venue during Purdue University's baseball games.

The use of drones for goods delivery has emerged with the gradual advancement of battery and connectivity technologies.

Refers to autonomous vehicles that use pedestrian walkways and travel a little faster than average walking speed (generally 3-6 miles an hour). These vehicles can usually carry up to around 20 lb. and use a camera, radar, and sensors to move autonomously.
