Minnesota-based Inbound Health was initially launched as an at-home care solution for COVID-19 but has diversified into other areas to include treatment for conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, pneumonia, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and renal failure. The company works with hospitals to determine which patients might benefit from at-home treatment and provides vitals and biometric monitoring, virtual consultations via its patient engagement app, and in-home visits by nurses and therapists. The company is a spin off from Allina Health, and launched as an independent operator in October 2022.
As of June 2023, the company has completed 5,600 rounds of treatment (called “episodes”) and has plans to expand into three additional markets within 2023. The company has also signed letters of intent with a large health system that operates across four states.
In June 2023, Inbound Health launched a new service to support post-surgery care at home. Specifically, patients who undergo general surgery, orthopedic, bariatrics, and hernia-related surgeries will be able to recover at home after a review of their condition and home environment. Patients approved to receive care at home had a clinical team of doctors, nurses, and therapists monitoring their condition remotely, along with at-home visits to support recovery.
In September 2023, the company noted that it had treated 6,500+ patients across 350+ Diagnostic-Related Groups (DRGs).
