Blockstream is a blockchain infrastructure company specializing in developing technologies that enhance the Bitcoin ecosystem. Its key offerings include: 1) Liquid Network, a Bitcoin layer-2 chain that enables users to tokenize real-world assets; 2) Core, a Lightning Network implementation for developers and platforms to offer rapid, low-cost Bitcoin payments; and 3) Elements, an open-source platform built on Bitcoin to deploy federated sidechains and blockchains. The liquid network also offers a native token named “LBTC,” which is pegged to the value of Bitcoin.
Liquid Network users can issue tokenized versions of assets such as stablecoins, tokenized bonds, and securities and trade them on peer-to-peer markets while using Bitcoin-based infrastructure for settlement. Additionally, the platform enables users to set granular, category-based transfer restrictions, manage vesting, and track dividends.
Blockstream also provides Bitcoin mining services, operating multiple enterprise-class mining facilities.
