HitPiece is an NFT marketplace for music artists and fans who can use it to create, buy, listen, and exhibit their work. It is built on the Ethereum Mainnet and accepts ETH and credit/debit cards for transactions. Music artists can upload content (artwork and music); create descriptions, utility, and collections; and control the experience from creation to launch.
It claims to be one of the easiest Web3 artist portals to jump into, where its platform allows artists to have contracts for their collections, ensuring the origin of their projects and originality. The platform also has integrations with WalletConnect, Metamask, and Coinbase.
HitPiece also provides an immersive metaverse space known as “The Lounge” for collectors to exhibit and listen to their collections. The platform aims to be a place of connection and expression for music artists and to provide opportunities for shared ownership of their projects.
In February 2022, the firm was accused of allegedly selling the works of musicians on their NFT marketplace without the artists’ permission. The firm apologized and stated that artists would be compensated for their work.
Key customers and partnerships
In August 2022, the company partnered with Audible Magic to incorporate automated identification services into HitPiece’s platform to determine ownership and related rights.
In October 2022. it entered a partnership with Grammy award winner Rick Ross to allow its users to engage in an immersive experience of Rick Ross’ The Promise Land. HitPiece also agreed to mint and launch Rick Ross’ upcoming Genesis NFT collection.
Funding and financials
In January 2022, the firm raised USD 5 million in a seed round led by Pelion Ventures. The funding was used to expand products and tools for artists and to improve metaverse experiences for fans and collectors.
